Kick Start Fund

In case you haven't guessed already – we love cycling and we think it's a fundamental part of growing up. Hundreds of kids are learning to ride right with a running bike, but hundreds more just aren't lucky enough to have that opportunity.

So we thought we'd try to do our bit – or rather help you do your bit – by donating a percentage of the profit from every bike we sell to what we call the Kick Start Fund.

It's a pretty simple idea. Every time we clock up enough money in the fund, we will donate a top quality running bike to a child or organisation that ordinarily would not be able to have access to one. We welcome nominations from you too – so please send them in to our contact email address and we will put them on our waiting list.

Starterbikes donates a FirstBIKE Cross (with brake) to Maytree Nursery School

Maytree Nursery school is operated by Lambeth Council in South West London. The kids who go there come from a wide variety of ethnic and social backgrounds. Every one is different and yet every one is treated with the same first class care and help.

Maytree has strong connections with the local community and the staff there are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the kids in their charge. So of course we were only too happy to provide a FirstBIKE Cross to add to their fleet of outdoor fun-vehicles.

Starterbikes helps with The Children's Trust Christmas Raffle

We were delighted to donate a fantastic FirstBIKE Street in festive Green to The Children's Trust at Tadworth in Surrey.

They do amazing work there with some amazing kids – we've been to their fundraising events in the past and seen it first hand.

We received this lovely email from The Children's Trust after the raffle –

"Dear Starterbikes,

I am writing to thank you for kindly donating a brand new Starter Bike for our Christmas Fair here at The Children's Trust. The bike was used as a prize in our raffle which raised over £350 and, the lucky winner took their bike home with them. (Thank you for all your help in getting it delivered to us in time for the Fair!)

Your generosity helped make our Christmas Fair on 28th November a great success, raising a fantastic £12000 for The Children’s Trust. Visitors to the Fair enjoyed some great stalls and attractions and the Festive, crisp weather on the day was perfect for those using our skating rink! Even Santa popped in for a few hours and met our younger visitors.
